In the 1970s, there were claims that the DPT vaccine caused SIDS, but this is untrue. SIDS rates have dropped since the mid-1990s, even with the addition of more vaccines. The term “SIDS” first appeared in 1969, but infant deaths with similar characteristics were observed in the 19th century, suggesting that SIDS has been around for a long time. Furthermore, there is no evidence that vaccines cause SIDS.
