Why do some people think that 60% of new COVID-19 patients have been vaccinated?

The usual suspects…
Have 60% of New COVID-19 Patients Been Vaccinated?
So it’s not true?

To be fair, it is certainly possible that clinicians have been telling Dr. Harvey Risch that 60% of COVID-19 cases they are treating have already been vaccinated.
Harvey Risch, a cancer epidemiologist, is the doctor that:
- said lockdowns are counterproductive and the “pandemic ends with herd immunity,” which to him, means natural herd immunity
- has been a vocal supporter of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin to treat COVID-19
- was criticized by his peers at Yale for promoting hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin to treat COVID-19
But of course, that’s not what the rest of us are seeing with breakthough COVID-19 infections.
Remember, recent statistics found a very tiny number of breakthrough COVID-19 infections.
In fact, the CDC has only received 5,814 reports of COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough infections from 43 U.S. states and territories after more than 75 million people have been vaccinated!

It is not true that 60% of new COVID-19 patients have been vaccinated, but it is possible that some docs have been telling that to Harvey Risch, as it is almost certainly what he would like to hear.
