Who Is Judy Mikovits?

Dr. Judy Mikovits has a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, doing her thesis on Negative Regulation of HIV Expression in Monocytes.

She had several papers published with Dr. Frank Ruscetti, with whom she continues to work.

Instead of research, it seems that they now do:

  • Advocacy for vaccine injury legal cases worldwide.
  • Research and documentation on medical exemptions for vaccinations.

What happened?

Who Is Judy Mikovits?

After working at the National Cancer Institute, it seems that Judy Mikovits became research director of the Whittemore Peterson Institute (WPI).

A paper by Mikovits and Ruscetti was retracted because no one else could replicate the work.

She was eventually fired after a paper she was lead author on, which found xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus (XMRV) in patients with CFS, was retracted and the institute accused her of stealing notebooks and manipulating data.

“But the leader of the team that authored the 2009 paper, researcher Judy Mikovits, apparently presented the same figure — carrying different labels and supporting a different point — in a talk given at a conference on Sept. 23 in Ottawa.”

Manipulation alleged in paper linking virus, chronic fatigue syndrome

An even larger study found no evidence of XMRV infections in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome, even as she had claimed the virus could cause CFS, Parkinson’s disease, autism and multiple sclerosis.

The source of XMRV in her patients?

“Well-controlled experiments showed that detection of XMRV was due to contaminated samples and was not a marker of or a causal factor in prostate cancer or CFS.”

Johnson et al on Xenotropic Murine Leukemia Virus-Related Virus (XMRV) and the Safety of the Blood Supply

The virus was in a contaminated cell line in which she and others were doing research. The virus wasn’t in the actual patients themselves.

Judy Mikovits on Vaccines

Before her paper was retracted and she was fired from her lab, Judy Mikovits did actually do research on viruses and she is a scientist. She didn’t do research on vaccines though.

Judy Mikovits is still finding retroviruses wherever she looks for them...
Judy Mikovits is still finding retroviruses wherever she looks for them…

That seems to be something she talks about a lot now though:

  • at anti-vaccine rallies
  • at anti-vaccine conferences
  • in anti-vaccine videos

Her claim to fame seems to be talking about contaminated vaccines and bashing Gardasil. And deep state conspiracy theories about why she was arrested and lost her job.

To be clear, a rotavirus vaccine was found to be contaminated with DNA of porcine circovirus type 1.  While that might sound a little scary, it is important to keep in mind that the PCV1 virus doesn’t actually cause disease in people and these weren’t even “biologically active virus particles.”

PCV1 isn’t a retrovirus though and Judy Mikovits wasn’t even the researcher who discovered the contamination, which has since been resolved.

“These findings do not indicate the presence of either ALV or EAV infection in MMR vaccine recipients and provide support for current immunization policies.”

Hussain et al on Lack of Evidence of Endogenous Avian Leukosis Virus and Endogenous Avian Retrovirus Transmission to Measles Mumps Rubella Vaccine Recipients

Studies have looked at retrovirus contamination of vaccines, but they were  done over 17 years ago. And not by Mikovits. Studies that confirmed that vaccines are safe.

None of this has kept Judy Mikovits from scaring people about vaccines, especially the HPV vaccine.

“Cervical cancer is not a public health threat. It’s not an infectious disease. Why is it in the Department of Public Health? Why are we mandating every child over 9 years old, and I heard soon to be pregnant women, to get this vaccine? It makes no sense.”

Judy Mikovits

It is really hard to understand how someone who worked at the National Cancer Institute could make these statements. Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers in women.

There is, of course, no mandate for 9-year-olds to get the HPV vaccine. In the United States, HPV vaccination is recommended, beginning at age 11 to 12 years. The HPV vaccine is not recommended for pregnant women and while several vaccines are recommended, no vaccines are actually mandated in pregnancy.

“It was never developed to prevent cancer. It was developed and approved to prevent warts. Warts are not a public health threat. It’s beyond… When scientists like myself, and I work in cancer and AIDS hear this, we are just…”

Judy Mikovits

Gardasil and Cervarix were developed to prevent HPV infections, which cause cervical cancer. HPV can also cause genital warts.

“I think we need to ban… Japan and India have, all HPV vaccinations now, until the appropriate studies are done, until the patients are tested…”

Judy Mikovits

Neither Japan nor India have banned HPV vaccinations.

Why should we? The HPV vaccines are safe, effective, and necessary.

And why would anyone listen to Judy Mikovits?

Plandemic

That you wouldn’t want to listen to Judy Mikovits becomes even clearer once you become familiar with her latest endeavor.

What has she been up to lately?

“Basically, all the common conspiracy theories about COVID-19 make an appearance, including the claim that it was the flu vaccine that got it started, but with a spin.”

Judy Mikovits in Plandemic: An antivax conspiracy theorist becomes a COVID-19 grifter

She is featured in part one of Plandemic, an online documentary in which she makes claims about Anthony Fauci, HIV, flu shots, and COVID-19.

“Why would you close the beach? You’ve got sequences in the soil, in the sand. You’ve got healing microbes in the ocean, in the salt water. That’s insanity.”

Judy Mikovits – Plandemic

Not surprisingly, everything she says is easily refuted and Plandemic has been characterized as “a documentary full of false conspiracy theories about the coronavirus.”

  1. Dr. Judy found the XMRV in ME Patients. What part of that isn’t comprehensible? The MLV’s are in the Biologic’s which can and does enter the Body through Vacination as Vaccines are cultured from Animal DNA and Human DNA (From Aborted Fetus fibroblast Tumor-WI-5 -MRC-38) but Hey, never mind it’s cancerous. You People who right these Propaganda pieces are reaching far and wide. But You’ll never be able to prove vaccines are safe OR Effective.

And look at the link they provided “Antivax Activist Charges Parents $4000…” Isn’t even Mikovits! Lol what a POS hit piece this is.

  2. I would be interested to be pointed toward a paper which, following investigation, showed that no vaccines were contaminated with mouse viruses.
You write that her paper was retracted because other scientists couldn’t replicate the findings. That’s a common problem in medical research but papers are not retracted because of it. In fact, when the Cochrane Collaboration look at vaccine safety they often comment on the inadequacy and conflicts inherent in many studies – these are not retracted. She claims her paper was retracted because of the intervention of Dr Fauci. Also there were twelve other authors to the paper. What is their position?
The issue is sufficiently important for her position to be treated as a position rather than just a promotion of a mindless anti-vax attitude.
If vaccination advocates want to be taken seriously they need to show that their writing is not just a hatchet job – but clearly and logically dismantle an opponent’s case. Otherwise it looks like ‘attacking the (wo)man’ has replaced the willingness to look clearly.

    1. I would be interested to be pointed toward a paper which, following investigation, showed that ANY vaccine was found to be contaminated with mouse viruses. Proving a negative is a fool’s errant, a rhetorical fallacy created by those who have made their mind about a subject and then want other people to prove them wrong.

  3. It’s hard to believe this article was used as a source to discredit Dr. Judy Mikovits on Wikipedia. Surely, there is no conflict of interest here.

      1. Wikipedia isn’t reliable on some issues. If it is a critical subject to the usual suspects it is not to be trusted either. It is “Encyclopedia” they’re all going for by inference.

  4. And we should believe Fauci, Birx, the CDC and its stellar directors and employees who own the largest gaggle of patents on viruses and vaccines, the WHO, the NIH ? … all of which are riddled with conflict of interest. Ya, sure. What’s Mikovits getting out of it? Professional survival? You guys have fixed that. She, unfortunately, is more believable than all of the above, by virtue of the attempt to make her life a misery, evidenced by this sloppy and childish hit piece. You not but give her credence. Looking for bad people? Try the little-man-Fauci as Hitler who can’t paint, but he can bring most of the world to a stand still. Hitler killed about 8 million. What will be Fauci’s total?

    1. He would already have a couple of million on his conscience (if he had one) for what happened over the Aids outbreak.

  5. I came across her research years ago when looking for a possible cause for my CFS. I even contacted Whittemore Peterson. Why did I find the research compelling? In 2007 I was cleaning out the upstairs of an old unlived in farmhouse (doing it for renovation). It was littered with thousands of mouse feces, and I swept them up with a broom and no face mask. In about 1 – 1 1/2 weeks I was experiencing a fatigue like I never had before in my life. I struggled to continue working for another 17 months. It was getting worse even with curtailing my physical activity. I finally had to quit working and was diagnosed 2 months later with CFS at Washington University in St. Louis. I asked Whittemore for any testing that could be done in relation to the study that indicated a mouse retrovirus as a possible cause – they no longer had any materials to provide for any testing. I have provided blood samples for research on 2 different occasions approximated 6 yrs. ago.

Note: I was a healthy 52 yr. old male at the time I started experiencing CFS. Was it just a coincidence? I never thought it was to this day.

  6. This is like all such hit pieces, long on authoritative claims and short on actual sources or facts. Those given don’t hold up under scrutiny. This alone is a good reason to see what Judy says. She actually gave the best defence of vaccines generally I ever heard and is by her own words not anti vaccines in total.

  7. Tony Vaccimania

This article sounds exactly like a vindictive note written by a jilted girlfriend about an ex-boyfriend in study hall, which she would then pass around to all her girlfriends. … There is no objective statement about anything in it. … Vincent Iannelli, the author, must be one of Tony “The Plaguemaster” Fauci’s soulless lieutenants in the CDC Vaccine Mafia, who’ll probably justly reincarnate as a severe retrovirus victim in his next hundred lifetimes.

  8. As usual there’s not much substance, it’s primarily appeals to alleged/percieved authorities.

The pro-vaxxers are not just in favor of injecting attenuated pathogens, they are in favor of (or have nothing to say about, i.e. pretend they can ignore) injecting ALUMINUM among many other highly neurotoxic, cytotoxic, immunotoxic adjuvants, even into young children without a BBB to protect their brains, all while allowing almost no legal recourse to those highly damaged by them.

    It’s beyond shameful.

To the credit of Vaxopedia however, they are suprisingly allowing comments. Thank you for at least not engaging in censorship.
