measles deaths

Measles was once common, but vaccination has greatly reduced cases. In 1951, a New York City epidemic caused over 400 deaths. Pre-vaccine, deaths and cases were frequent. The vaccine’s impact is evident in the reduced numbers. Recent outbreaks suggest a resurgence, prompting concern and vigilance. The current focus is on managing outbreaks and educating the public.
