Polio Vaccines
The first polio vaccines were licensed in the 1950s and ’60s by Jonas Salk and Albert Sabin and have helped us get close to eradicating polio.

In 1961, Sabin’s live, attenuated polio vaccine replaced Jonas Salk’s inactivated polio vaccine that had been in use since 1955.
